This official ECI program will train participants to work independently to turn the Earth Charter vision into reality -- becoming volunteer Earth Charter “consultants” in the communities in which they work and live.

Program topics will include:

• Systemic vision of the four elements of the Earth Charter Principles: respect towards life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice, peace and non-violence; and, their interconnections and interdependence.
• The challenges of scale and complexity in dissemenating these principles.
• Values-based education to generate more sustainable ways of living.
• Cases and studies of the operational principles of the Earth Charter in action.
• The power of people (as opposed to organizations or institutions) as a key factor for the success of the initiative.
• Creative approaches to building resources, collaboration and support, and overcoming dependency on fundraising.
• Experiences from the field: workshop on innovation in different arenas (education, media, etc.)
