The main objective of this edition was to reflect on and promote health public services, education, transportation and social well-being.  The Forum embraced the Earth Charter as their core reference document.

The Earth Charter at a local level is a civil society group.  In the city of Marratxí with 33.000 inhabitants disseminated within numerous towns near Palma, capital of the island, there is an association called "Gent de Marratxí".  Their central purpose is to promote and exert citizens’ active participation in the life of the community.  Their motto is "Another world is possible, another Marratxí too.  Think globally, act locally".  Their Internet page offers the Earth Charter (complete version and children's version) as a base of reflection and action at:
