The mission of the Earth Charter Initiative is to promote the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.

This beautiful fairytale inspired by the Convention on the Rights of the Child was written by Volodymyr Motyrov during his internship in UNICEF. It also relates to the 4th pillar of the Earth Charter: Democracy, Nonviolence and Peace.

“I” is Peace

In September 2009, students of UPEACE organized a celebration of the International Day of Peace where they presented their art.
Especially for this event, Billene Seyoum wrote this beautiful poem about seeing "peace" in each of us.

earth charter has to involve youths in africa, in my country there isnt any of your branch.
