Mission

The mission of the Earth Charter Initiative is to promote the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.

EOWI organized a Christian - Budhist dialogue

“The Renewable Energies of Hope – Approaches to an Interreligious Collaboration for Sustainable Ways of Living” was the title of this year’s Annual Meeting of the Ecumenical One World Initiative, the German Earth Charter Affiliate.

The two-day conference that was held end of April 2009 brought together around 50 people from different age groups ranging from 19 to 80 years. Its main focus was on the Earth Charter’s call for a change of mind and heart required in the transition towards sustainable ways of living.
