The mission of the Earth Charter Initiative is to promote the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.

A Voice for Earth: American Writers Respond to the Earth Charter

Edited by Peter Blaze Corcoran and A. James Wohlpart, this book is a collection of poems, essays, and stories that together give a voice to the ethical principles outlined in the Earth Charter. It has yet to be officially launched. Nevertheless, the authors will be speaking about it at the Miami Book Fair International later this month. More information about it here.
