The NGO Nouvelle Afrique has been collaborating in the dissemination of the Earth Charter. In 2000, with the purpose of raising awareness, Nouvelle Afrique presented the Charter at various important events in Cameroon, for example at the National Arts and Culture Festival, and several other events in different Cameroonian regions. These events offered an opportunity to raise awareness about the Earth Charter, discuss its principles and other important issues regarding sustainability with a wide range of people, such as artists and intellectuals, youth and faith organizations, and government officials.

The Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC) has organised a series of meetings with youth leaders, schools and other institutions to promote the vision of Earth Charter in Cameroon. In 2008 CAPEC organised a two week workshop for 100 orphan children from 6 orphanages in Yaoundé. The workshop raised awareness on Earth Charter and sustainable development. They also have an Earth Charter Youth Group, called ECYG Yaoundé Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC). They joined the Earth Charter Youth network in September 2007.

LUKMEF-Cameroon-ECYG joined the Earth Charter youth network in May 2009, ECYG AFREDECC Limbe in June 2009 and Better World Cameroon in January 2010.
