The Instituto de Ecología Política (Institute for Ecological Policies) has supported the Earth Charter for many years with different educational activities and is presently an EC Affiliate in this country. In July 2002 the Institute for Ecological Policies organized an event to launch the Earth Charter and raise awareness about it. Over 150 participants attended the event; among them were political authorities, ecological organizations, NGOs, and students.
