In 2008 Asociación Cultural Pirámide (Pyramid Cultural Association) and Earth Charter Peru (group of five people) started to be engaged in the Earth Charter Initiative with the objective to raise awareness about the Earth Charter and promote its use in various spheres of action.

There is one Earth Charter Youth Group in Peru, called Asociacion Peruana de Escultismo (APE).

ECI Secretariat and composer Enrique Rodriguez-Pastor are pleased to present a new album entitled Life Alert that includes 12 songs inspired by the Earth Charter.
The Jesuit university of Peru will offer a course on the Earth Charter in the months of June and July this year 
Earth Charter Youth Group from Peru organized a celebration on the International Earth Day!
Asociación Peruana de Escultismo, un Grupo Juvenil de la Carta de la Tierra, organizó un evento en Día Internacional de la Madre Tierra.
This event open on April 22nd  within the frame of EC+10 and continued until April 30th
The organization Asociación Civil Provalores, who works in San Juan de Lurigancho, a district of Lima, Peru, has decisively committed to promote the Earth Charter.

As you all know, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 8.0 shook southern Peru on 15 August 2007, causing loss of life, structural damage, and the urgent need for humanitarian intervention (see USGS website).
