Mission

The mission of the Earth Charter Initiative is to promote the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.

e-GLO, Earth Charter Global Learning Opportunity, is a semester-long, online sustainability leadership course inspired by the Earth Charter. To the e-GLO 2, Earth Charter Guiding Leaders Towards Sustainability Action, 31 participants were selected from 20 different countries.

  • 8 sessions
  • every other Saturday, 4 pm GMT
  • 3-hour-long online sessions
  • introductions, workshops, interviews with expert guests, participant presentations on local projects and e-GLO, collaborative projects …

Participants will 
  • learn more about the Earth Charter 
  • network with other young Earth Charter activists from around the world
  • receive mentorship and support with local action projects from other participants as well as from our experienced team
  • gain new skills in sustainability leadership, project planning and fundraising
  • have a great time while making a difference

e-GLO Certificate of Participation
The participant will be issued with a certificate if s/he:

  • attends at least 6 of the 8 sessions
  • reviews the materials for any missed sessions
  • participates actively during the sessions – listens to all presentations and engages with the speakers – engages in the text chat dialogue
  • satisfactorily completes all e-GLO homework assignments on time
