         THE EARTH CHARTER RADIO CAMPAIGN

a project of the EC Youth Leadership Team

The Earth Charter Radio Campaign consists of 4 radio spots introducing the Earth Charter and its principles. The length of each spot is 15 – 20 seconds and they are free to download. This is a project envisioned, designed and implemented by Earth Charter Youth Leadership Team members Namir and Didier, who wanted to provide this communication resource to all, hoping that many interested groups and individuals will make good use of it.

These radio spots are created to be broadcasted in numerous languages all around the world. So far the spots are available in English, Spanish and French. The idea is that they would be broadcasted over four consecutive days that will be accompanied by four days of action. Each of these four action days, as well as the radio spots, will focus on one of the four pillars of the Earth Charter:

  1. Respect and Care for the Community of Life
  2. Ecological Integrity
  3. Social and Economic Justice
  4. Democracy, Nonviolence, and Peace

All the diverse ideas that will arise from these action days will be gathered on a Radio campaign's Wikispaces, thus to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices.

This campaign aims at promoting the integrated approach of sustainable development suggested by the 4 pillars of the Earth Charter and at catalyzing related projects from diverse places in the world on a same Wikispace, thus allowing participants to share their stories and innovative actions toward sustainable development.
