Earth Charter Commissioner Rabbi Awraham Soetendorp and His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan issued a joined call for peace in the Middle East. The statement was presented by Rabbi Soetendorp at the German Protestant Church Congress in Cologne ("Kirchentag", see report below) and calls for the creation of open dialogue centres where Israelis and Palestinians, Jews and Muslims can come together to share their pain and initiate processes of healing.
