UNESCO has developed a multimedia teacher education programme entitled "Teaching and Learning for a Sustainable Future" as part of its programme "Educating for a Sustainable Future." It includes a substantial section on the Earth Charter and also suggests ways to be involved in the Earth Charter process. The rest of the programme provides a valuable overview for teachers of the holistic and interdisciplinary concept of sustainability, its implications for teaching across the curriculum, its emphasis on values and ethics, and teaching strategies and methods that can be used for such subjects.
