Launching the Youth Leadership Team (YLT): Call for Voters and Candidates - Deadline Extended
I am very pleased to report that the feedback from the ECYI on the YLT Guidelines was overwhelmingly positive. Read the updated version of the YLT Guidelines.
Furthermore, the deadline for Voter Registration and declaring your Candidacy has been extended to this Sunday, 16 September. In order to vote, please complete and submit the ECYI Membership Application to me at dominic [@] earthcharterinaction.org. To declare your candidacy, please complete and submit the ECYI Membership Application and the YLT Candidate Statement. We need candidates from all regions of the world, both male and female.
As planned, the Election Process will culminate with a “Town Hall Meeting” and “Voting Week” on the ECYI Blog from 17-23 of September.
Those candidates who are elected to the YLT will be supported in meeting in Ahmedabad, India in November 2007, just before the 4th International Conference on Environment Education. The YLT will also participate in the Conference, co-delivering a workshop with UNEP's South Asia Youth Environment Network (SAYEN). The Center for Environment Education, an Earth Charter Affiliate, along with UNEP and UNESCO are organizing and hosting the Conference. Many people from the Earth Charter Initiative will be in attendance for YLT Representatives to meet.
I encourage you to participate in this exciting effort to reform ECYI governance!
Peace,
Dominic Stucker
International Youth Coordinator
